This work is from a University group project, where the brief given was to visually re-interpret the Lewis Carroll novel, 'Alice: Through the Looking Glass', for adults.
Deciding on an overall visual theme and style, including typography, illustration and design guidelines, were an crucial part of the project, as well as allocating each illustrator and designer with a section of the book that fit with their style, and they felt they could execute well.
Our solution was to create a book that has a dark and gory theme, and tells a story through cohesive design and typography, whilst still allowing each illustrator to convey elements of their own style, seeing each chapter through their unique lens.
