A series of photographs from a University project, exploring the standards of beauty in the drag industry, and comparing media and internet portrayal to real life.
Key parts of the work were research and networking to find the club nights and drag queens, shooting in a fast paced non-studio environment, and detailed retouching of the photographs for the final presentation.
The retouched photos seen first, were presented with the un-retouched photos at the bottom of the page, in order to create a piece of work that was thought provoking, and started a conversation on the topic of reality vs social media.
